Regular Season Round 11: EB-85 - Start Lublin 86-94

There was a surprise result when thirtieth ranked PolishStart Lublin (6-2) defeated higher ranked Norwegian EB-85 (4-4) 94-86 on Friday. EB-85 was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Start Lublin, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 33 EB-85 turnovers. Strangely EB-85 outrebounded Start Lublin 44-27 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Igor Kwiatkowski (187-2009) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Piotr Mazek (194-2009) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. Fabian Reiffers responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Fredrik Lindstrom scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Start Lublin and four EB-85 players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Start Lublin . They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Probasket and Ventspils Spars. Loser EB-85 dropped to the eighteenth position with four games lost. They share it with BC Nokia.
